Hiking, Camping, & Munro Bagging

Written by:

I am in no way very knowledgeable about hiking and it’s unfortunately not something that I get the opportunity to do very often but I love every second of it when I do get the chance.

I first fell in love with hiking when I did my Duke of Edinburgh Award with my high school. I remember going out on my first expedition and smiling from ear to ear the entire time. The feeling of being completely in nature with no internet connection; laughing with my friends, making memories, drinking fresh running water, late night chats in our tents, and being surprised by how beautiful the scenery is. It’s wholesome and makes a person feel present.

Last week I joined two friends on a hike up three Munro’s. A Munro is a mountain in Scotland that is 3,000 feet or more in height. In total there are 282 in Scotland. The term Munro Baggers is used for people who enjoy climbing these mountains and keep track of those they have completed – in order to become a ‘Munroist’ when completing all 282. I have, so far, only hiked 4 of them so have a very long way to go. But you’ve got to start somewhere! Below are some pictures from that hike.

Four years on from that first expedition I have hiked Ben Nevis, part of the Grand Canyon, trails in Utah and have now began my Munro bagging journey. Hiking is something that I will never tire of and I hope to travel the world and reach some breath-taking peaks.

Lots of love,
